San Manuel Bingo & Casino   Highland, CA ($360M)

The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians wanted a world-class gaming facility that also reflected their cultural identity. Designed by Wimberly, Allison, Tong and Goo (WATG), the project included construction of a new 3-level casino, elevated pedestrian bridge with moving walkways, 1200-car parking facility and replacement infrastructure inclusive of underground utilities, roads, landscaping, water features, ponds and hardscape and central emergency power plant. Unique engineering and constructability aspects addressed design and construction means and methods required by Seismic Zone 4 regulations due to the fact that the facility was located on the reservation within 150 feet of the Sierra Madre fault zone.

Prior to founding BEK, Brian Kasen performed as the project Construction Manager integrated within the owners team, and provided technical support to develop policies, procedures, tools, and information that enabled San Manuel to make better decisions about their project's schedule and budget. The project was delivered on time and under budget.
